About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthoptist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As an autonomous practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive orthoptic services to both outpatients and inpatients across two acute hospitals within our health board.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of ocular motility conditions affecting patients of all ages. This includes utilizing your expertise in binocular vision, functional vision, and ocular motility to deliver high-quality care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough eye examinations and visual field assessments.
  • Collaborating with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Providing patient education and counseling on eye health and management strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participating in professional development activities to stay abreast of advancements in orthoptic care.
