Commercial Manager Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our client, a leading Civil Engineering Contractor, to oversee all commercial aspects of their projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of quantity surveyors, costing staff, and project planners to ensure effective commercial management of projects.
  2. Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  3. Manage contracts and negotiate terms to ensure optimal commercial outcomes.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  1. Degree-qualified or equivalent in a relevant field.
  2. Proven experience in commercial management, preferably in the civil engineering industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of contract conditions, laws, and regulations.
  4. Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  5. Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  7. Ability to influence others and drive business growth.
  8. Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards.
