Somerset Bridge Group is seeking a Catastrophic Injury Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of high-value claims, ensuring optimal settlement and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively manage a caseload of catastrophic injury claims, achieving timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and maintain technical claims skills within the Large Loss Technical Claims team.
- Ensure accurate reserving and timely handling of new and reallocated claims.
- Maintain and improve insurer and reinsurer confidence in the Large Loss Technical Claims Team.
- Act as a technical referral point and conduct audits of legal suppliers.
- Ensure reserving accuracy and negotiate substantial legal costs.
- Substantial knowledge and experience in settling catastrophic injury claims.
- Ability to handle complex claims, including head and brain injuries, amputations, and serious spinal injuries.
- Detailed knowledge of the CPR, including multi-track litigation.
- Ability to negotiate substantial legal costs and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK for case conferences, trials, and joint settlement meetings.
- Hybrid working arrangement, with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
