About the Opportunity

This four-year PhD programme offers specialist training in Compound Semiconductor technology, including taught modules in the first year at Cardiff University. You can choose modules from either an MSc programme in Compound Semiconductor Physics or an MSc in Compound Semiconductor Electronics.

During the next three years, you will undertake supervised PhD research, working with leading academics and researchers at Cardiff University or one of our partner universities. You will use state-of-the-art facilities to develop your skills and knowledge in this field.

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Compound Semiconductor Manufacturing has been established to support the growth of the Compound Semiconductor Cluster in the UK. This centre has already attracted significant funding from public and private sources.

As a researcher in this programme, you will have the opportunity to work with industrial partners, applying the latest innovative research to real-world problems. We estimate the salary for this role to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum.
