About Our Team

Our Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering department is a dynamic and innovative team that is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes for our local population. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of new technologies and improve patient outcomes.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical physics, with expertise in research and development projects. Key responsibilities include initiating and participating in research and development projects, delivering lectures and research presentations, and supporting regional nuclear medicine services.

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development of new technologies, improve patient outcomes, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate and participate in research and development projects to advance the field of medical physics and improve patient outcomes
  • Deliver lectures and research presentations to academic and professional audiences
  • Support regional nuclear medicine services, enhancing the coordination and integration of these services across the region
Requirements
  • Good honours first degree in physical science or equivalent
  • Relevant master's degree or equivalent
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Certificate of competence to act as a Radiation Waste Advisor and/or Radiation Protection Advisor
  • Corporate membership of a professional organisation
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including access to ongoing training and development opportunities, a generous annual leave allowance, and a comprehensive pension scheme.
