Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage our engineering stores and ensure the availability of spare parts and materials essential for the smooth running of our plant. As the Engineering Stores Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy, and working closely with the engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve all purchasing requests for production consumables, ensuring that the correct parts are ordered and delivered on time.
- Coordinate with the engineering and production teams to ensure that all necessary parts are available and that production schedules are met.
- Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Work with the engineering team to create and implement kitting lists for proactive maintenance, ensuring that all necessary parts are available and that maintenance schedules are met.
- Explore and promote the use of reverse engineering techniques to create a wider database of suppliers, improving lead times, costs, and quality.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of engineering, machine parts, and ordering systems.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - Holistech preferable.
