Senior Media Relations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Media Relations Specialist to join our team at the Food and Drink Federation. As a key member of our Press Office, you will play a central role in shaping our media strategy and ensuring our positions on key issues are well represented in the media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective media relations strategies to support our key policy aims
  • Proactively generate news stories and press releases to cut through the noise and highlight the importance of the food and drink manufacturing industry to the UK
  • Manage our key processes, including keeping databases, licenses, contacts lists, and monitoring processes up to date
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues and FDF members to share our success and showcase the Press Office's work
  • Stay up-to-date with the news agenda and develop a strong understanding of key topics affecting FDF

Requirements:

  • Passion for all things media and a natural love for following the news agenda
  • Strong sense of what makes a good story and examples of proactively generating news coverage
  • Solid writing skills, able to write for different styles and audiences
  • Ability to work at pace in a busy press office, managing your workload depending on changing priorities
  • Lots of ideas and fresh thinking, proactively suggesting PR tactics that will support our business strategy
