Job Description

PFAS is seeking a highly skilled Functional Assessor to join our team. As a key member of our Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS) department, you will play a crucial role in assessing the cases of individuals applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing claimants to understand their challenges and completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means.

As a Functional Assessor, you will assess how an individual's disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Analysing information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
  • Providing positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional. This includes Nurses, Physios/OTs, and Paramedics who meet the essential qualifications listed below.

Essential Qualifications
  • Nurses: Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only), Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
  • Physios/OTs: Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist, Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT's (COT)
  • Paramedics: BSc or Qualified Paramedic, Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
