Job Title: Cardiology Research Nurse

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Cardiology Research team at the Bristol Heart Institute as a Cardiology Research Nurse. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality research studies and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse with a passion for research and a strong background in cardiovascular disease and/or acute care settings. As a Cardiology Research Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Approaching patients to participate in studies and managing and assisting the team with practical assessments as part of research studies.
  • Collecting and processing samples, including blood, urine, and swabs, and entering results onto a computer-based data collection portal.
  • Working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to support a portfolio of non-complex clinical trials and delivering treatment in Cardiology.
  • Ensuring that research is undertaken within research governance and good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and safeguarding the wellbeing of participants.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in cardiovascular disease and/or acute care settings.
  • Experience in clinical research, including knowledge of GCP guidelines and research governance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good clinical skills, including venepuncture and sample collection.
  • A willingness to develop computer skills and use Microsoft Office applications.
