Job Title: Accredited Counsellor/EMDR Therapist

Location: Onsite- Base locations in Sidcup & Lambeth, however further travel within London is required on a need must basis.

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time or Part Time. Monday - Friday- 9am-5pm. Minimum of 3 days per week.

We are seeking an experienced Accredited Counsellor/EMDR Therapist to join our team working with the MET Police. The successful candidate will deliver both counselling and EMDR sessions to staff and officers in the MET police within the context of a multi-specialist occupational health team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver crisis counselling based on case-by-case need as specified by the Clinical Lead.
  • Provide trauma interventions, including major and critical incidents, working within Optima and MPS policy.
  • Manage own caseload, delivering short-term (up to 6 sessions) of counselling for clients with personal or work-related issues, who are off sick or at work, with a goal of returning staff back to recuperative/full duties.
  • Deliver short-term EMDR therapy for clients with work-related issues, who are off sick or at work, up to 12 sessions, with a goal of returning staff back to recuperative/full duties.
  • Deliver short-term Trauma Focused CBT for clients, up to 12 sessions.
  • Deliver Short-Term Integrative Counselling for clients, up to 6 sessions.
  • Advice to other members of the multidisciplinary team on the use of EMDR and Trauma Focused counselling.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Level 3 EMDR training (accredited training as required by the UK EMDR Association) plus working towards accreditation with the UK EMDR Association.
  • Experience delivering EMDR therapy.
  • Experience in substance misuse would be advantageous.
  • Evidence of completion of psychological risk assessment and have the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience of delivering a brief counselling model.
  • Understanding of the use of IAPT measurement forms.
  • A knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and risk management.
