Job Summary

The Education Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Unit Catering Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of a catering service to our students.

Main Responsibilities

  • Execute skilled cooking activities connected to the full range of menu provision, including preparation of menus, portion control, special dietary meals, and function catering where appropriate.
  • Organize and supervise food service, including all aspects, service points, and the transportation of meals.
  • Actively promote the service through parents, principals, and customers to increase the uptake of meals.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and dining centers meet current standards of food safety legislation.
  • Ensure all catering practice complies with appropriate Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Responsible for securing the unit.
  • Ensure effective communication links with the school on all aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensure effective communication at all levels through regular staff meetings.

People Management

  • Supervise and direct other employees, including allocating duties and work rotas.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of all policies relating to staff issues, such as managing attendance, disciplinary, and grievance.
  • Provide induction and ongoing staff training.

Financial

  • Complete clerical duties associated with the efficient running of the kitchen, including cash handling.
  • Responsible for managing all resources, including food, labor, overheads, and equipment.

General Conditions

  • All duties must be carried out to comply with Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments, and Regulations, and other Legal requirements.
  • Carry out all duties in the working conditions normally inherent in the job.
  • Complete all necessary administration as required.
  • Carry out duties for jobs up to and including those in the same grade, provided such duties are within the competence of the employee.
  • Promote and adhere to the Values/ethos of the School.

Security Clearance

The successful applicant will require an enhanced disclosure check, which at present costs £33. Further details regarding the payment of this check will be issued with the contract of employment.
