Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled nurse to lead our nurse-led catheter clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the clinic, providing high-quality care to patients with long-term urethral or suprapubic urinary catheters.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To lead the nurse-led catheter clinic, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive assessments, targeted education, and planned follow-up appointments.
  2. To arrange patient follow-up appointments, respond to general enquiries, and provide education as required.
  3. To work independently with a caseload of patients, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality, safe, and effective clinical care.
  4. To oversee the booking of transport for patients as required.
  5. To ensure that the catheter service has adequate supplies to function.
  6. To provide education, teaching, and support to patients identified as requiring catheterisation.
  7. To use advanced clinical assessment and reasoning skills to provide a safe service.
  8. To delegate clinical and administrative work appropriately to support staff and monitor outcomes.
  9. To maintain accurate and contemporaneous records on all aspects of the treatment process and client/patient contact.
  10. To be accountable for own professional actions, adhering to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) guidelines.
