Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our Integrated Diabetes Service, you will play a vital role in supporting adult inpatients across East Lancashire Hospitals Trust.

The post holder will work closely with our highly skilled team of Adult Consultants, Adult Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Specialist Podiatrist, and Specialist Dietitians to prevent unnecessary admissions, support inpatient care, and timely discharge.

As a Clinical Diabetes Specialist Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering training to healthcare professionals across the health economy and contributing to the development of our inpatient service.

  • Deliver high-quality care to adult inpatients with diabetes
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to prevent unnecessary admissions and support timely discharge
  • Develop and deliver training to healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of our inpatient service

Our Integrated Diabetes Service is an early adopter of technology, using examples of all current diabetes technology available to coordinate patient care.

Person Specification
  • Current NMC Level 1 Registration with experience in diabetes
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Good communication skills
  • Teaching/mentoring qualification
  • Car driver essential
