Travel Trainer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Travel Trainer in Ealing. The successful candidate will work with young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing them with the skills and confidence to use public transport safely and independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized travel training to trainees, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement bespoke training plans, taking into account the complexities of the route and the trainee's additional needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to trainees and referrers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Network with key stakeholders at schools and colleges across the borough, promoting the Travel Training Programme and its benefits.
  • Attend events and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in the field.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications, such as 'A' level or NVQ level 3, plus 5 GCSEs A-C (new GCSE 4-9) including English and Math's, or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, with a passion for supporting them to achieve their goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with trainees, referrers, and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
