About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Piping Engineer to join our team at nexos in Aberdeen. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, producing, and maintaining piping engineering deliverables in accordance with industry standards, codes, legislation, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Assist in the preparation of Construction and Test Reports (CTR's) and man hour estimates.
  • Technical Expertise: Create, check, and respond to technical queries, and check and approve detailed design drawings of piping systems and supports in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
  • Engineering Decision Making: Provide technical input during detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and testing of projects, and make technical and engineering decisions associated with any given scope of work.
  • Quality Assurance: Create and check PED technical files, and create and maintain company Process and Mechanical Acceptance (PMA's).
  • Contractor Management: Review contractor/vendor designs and reports, and carry out engineering checks on construction workpacks for piping modifications/repair orders.
  • Team Development: Contribute to the development of engineering staff.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Industry.
  • Qualifications: Degree Qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good working knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI, etc.).
  • Offshore Requirements: Relevant Offshore Mandatory Requirements (Survival, Medical, MIST, EBS, etc.).
  • Software Skills: Ability to demonstrate previous experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D software.
