About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our Insurance Money and Services team at Tesco Bank. As a Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for advancing and enforcing the data governance framework, policy, and standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Data Governance: Act as the primary expert for all Data Governance matters, including the development and implementation of quality, lineage, and retention assets.
  2. Advise on Data Governance: Demonstrate deep knowledge of Data Governance concepts such as data quality, definitions, ownership, and retention, and provide guidance to data owners, stewards, and custodians.
  3. Implement Data Governance Policy: Oversee the Data Governance policy roll out across the business, improving its maturity and effectiveness.
  4. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage data-related risks through effective governance and control measures.
  5. Develop Data Governance Activity: Lead the development of centralised Data Governance activity, including the development and implementation of quality, lineage, and retention assets.
Requirements
  1. Data Governance Experience: Experience of Data Governance policies, standards, and control implementation.
  2. Data Quality Tooling: Experience of Data Quality tooling.
  3. Team Leading: Team leading experience.
  4. Technical Skills: Demonstrate SQL, Excel, PowerBI and insight skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Financial Services Experience: Financial services experience.
  2. Data Governance Qualifications: DAMA or EDM Council or similar Data Governance qualifications.
