About the RoleAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the end-client's mechanical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting preventative maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, pump systems, air compressors, water chillers, plumbing, boilers, and other related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in the procurement of necessary parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide timely resolutions.
- Qualified to at least Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within the facilities management industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and boilers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Competitive salary between £36,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Core hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
- Participation in an 'out of hours' on call rota
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
