Main Purpose of the Role

Zenith People is working with a leading manufacturer to recruit a skilled Mechanical Biased Maintenance Technician with a strong background in Hydraulics for a permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive, planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve the site PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) schedule to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Record and communicate maintenance information via written, electronic, and verbal means to ensure seamless collaboration with the team.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment to ensure smooth integration into the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and correct machinery faults, including electrical equipment, mechanical faults, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics, to ensure the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Support customers, both internal and external, to provide exceptional service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience gained within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of fault finding and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience of working with Power Press equipment and fault finding and diagnostics on controls equipment, drives, inverters, and PLCs.
  • Experience of engineering hand tools, test equipment, lifting and slinging equipment, access equipment, general office equipment, workshop machinery, and vibratory tools.
  • Experience of welding (MMA or MIG) and working knowledge of feedback systems, robotic systems, automation, and electrical heating systems.
  • Previous experience of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities and working knowledge of chillers, compressors, and plant utilities.
  • Ability to follow and fault find using electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engineering drawings.
  • Computer literate and qualified to HNC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
