Job Title: Residential Childcare Team Leader

About the Role: As a Residential Childcare Team Leader at Headway Adolescent Children's Services, you will be responsible for leading a team of Residential Support Workers in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities: Ensure the home runs efficiently and effectively, manage and lead team members, comply with safeguarding policies and procedures, and support effective multi-agency working.

Essential Skills and Qualifications: A good overall standard of education, a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce, and up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Residential Support Workers and ensure the home runs efficiently and effectively
  • Manage and lead team members, delivering supervision in accordance with company policy
  • Comply with safeguarding policies and procedures, including child care legislation and quality standards
  • Support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with staff, the local community, and other agencies
  • Develop and deliver objectives identified in young people's plans and support reviewing and monitoring processes
  • Play an active part in promoting and encouraging participation of young people in decision-making processes
  • Develop and implement anti-discriminatory and equal opportunity practices
  • Comply with legislation and company policies on Health & Safety, Fire, and Data Protection

Requirements: Good overall standard of education, working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent, up-to-date knowledge of child care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards, previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior, good report writing and numeracy skills, well-organized with good administration skills, and IT literate.
