Maritime Operations Officer

The Port of Dover is a leading international ferry port and a vital gateway for the movement of people and trade. As a Vessel Traffic Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of the environment within the port's jurisdiction.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and regulating the movement of all vessels within the port, advising masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage, and allocating berths to vessels entering or manoeuvring within the port in accordance with schedules.
The Port operates 365 days a year, and you will be required to work a shift pattern of days and nights averaging 42 hours a week. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong analytical and technical aptitude, as well as good spatial awareness.
Additionally, you will need to be proficient in MS Office and have a degree-level education or demonstrable experience in operational management and planning. You will also need to be able to achieve a CO103/1 certificate and have previous experience within VTS or a comparable industry.
