Transport Operations Coordinator

The successful candidate will be responsible for resourcing and forward planning all company resources, utilizing both company and third-party resources when required.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Forward planning all fleet resources for the next day, taking into account cost, compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Planning reloads for all fleet and subcontractors, ensuring consideration for driver compliance and minimizing empty mileage.
  • Collaborating with the transport operator to provide updates on same-day changes and ensuring all farm load plans are sent through accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Forward vehicle mapping, allocating vehicles and ensuring the fleet is resourced correctly with drivers, and reporting any empty resources to the Transport Manager.
  • Updating planning sheets for driver's L/C and start/finish days for all traction subcontractors.
  • Allocating the full plan onto Road Runner, supported by the Transport Administrator between 16:00-18:00.
  • Managing driver hours, ensuring all daily and weekly rules and regulations are accounted for.
  • Forward planning with Fleet to ensure all trucks and trailers are planned in for maintenance and service as early as possible.
  • Assisting the Transport Manager in driver training by planning allowances for drivers in the office when required.
  • Providing on-call support for the first two shifts, including diverting the office phone to the work mobile and dealing with all inquiries and issues.

Expectations:

The company requires all planners to prioritize the company's best interests in all decisions and changes.

Key expectations include working in advance of the next day's plan, forward planning for as far in advance as possible, and considering driver shifts, subcontractors, and expected loads.

When sourcing extra subcontractors, a generic 'send to all email' is acceptable, but a phone call to all contractors is required to ensure all avenues have been exhausted.

Provided all work is completed to a high standard, all loads are covered, and related administrative tasks are completed in full, you may leave the office before your contracted finish time.
