Southern Water is committed to building a greener future, tackling climate change, and reducing its environmental impact. As we embark on this journey, we are seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to join our team.
This role will be a key member of our Information Security Team, reporting directly to our OT Security Manager. You will be responsible for general information and cyber security, planning for regulatory compliance, supporting operations connectivity, dealing with cyber attacks, and assisting on audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and processes
- Respond to security-related incidents and provide timely resolutions
- Plan and implement proactive security projects to mitigate risks
- Protect Southern Water's assets from cyber threats and vulnerabilities
- Monitor and analyze security threats, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies
- Review and assess architectural solutions to ensure they meet security standards
- Conduct security assessments for Industrial Control Systems and provide recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience in information security, with a focus on critical national infrastructure
- Strong understanding of security protocols, threat assessment, and vulnerability management
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with security frameworks, regulations, and compliance standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
