We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian Specialist to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Dietetic team at University Hospital Hairmyres. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a wide range of specialities, including medical and surgical areas.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a quality specialist dietetic service to acute in-patients and out-patients
- Provide a dietetic service to acute inpatient services, acute out-patient services, multidisciplinary meetings, and both patient and staff education sessions
- Contribute to service development and improvement
- Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
- Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
- Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery
- Excellent teamwork/leadership skills and ability to motivate others
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Relevant validated post-registration course
- Member of BDA including specialist group
- Evidence of clinical experience and continuing professional development in the delivery of therapeutic dietetics across acute ward areas
- Experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with general areas of acute practice
- Relevant general post-registration experience
- Clinical experience working with chronic renal failure patients
- Interest and/or experience in student training
- Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition
- Knowledge of specialist dietetic interventions relevant to post and up-to-date knowledge of professional issues
- Knowledge of clinical governance and its application in clinical practice
- Evidence of person-centred approach to dietetic practice
- Evidence of applying evidence-based dietetic practice to improve patient care
- Evidence of ability to work within a team, multidisciplinary and uni-disciplinary
- Positive role modelling for others
- Ability to work flexible working hours
- Ability to work under time pressure
- Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months
- Part-Time
- 26 hours - Additional hours may become available
- Pro-rata salary
This role will be based in the Dietetics Department within University Hospital Hairmyres. We are open to being flexible with working hours.
