About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team at NHS Lanarkshire, providing expert clinical care and acting as a source of expertise on nutritional therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care, encompassing dietetic assessment, treatment, and management of patients.
  • Act as a source of expertise on nutritional therapy to patients, the general public, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics.
  • State Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of further training/CPD in dietetic practice.
  • Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition.
  • Evidence of involvement in projects/clinical effectiveness work.
  • Evidence of working or clinical placement within an acute hospital setting.
  • Interest and/or experience in student training.
  • Good knowledge of up-to-date dietetic practice.
  • Knowledge of audit, standard development, and supporting change in practice with teams.
  • Knowledge of specialist dietetic interventions relevant to the post.
  • Ability to prioritise caseload/work.
  • Flexible, motivated, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking.
  • Skills in group work.
  • Networking skills.

Contract Details

Fixed Term or Secondment for 9 Months, Full-time, 37 hours.

Please note that this is a fixed-term post for 9 months. If an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment, and the employee must have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment.
