Job Purpose

As a member of our MPY R&D, Fire & Insulation laboratory, Fire Testing Team, you'll play a key role in supporting new product development and business-critical projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing steel specimens, setting up and conducting fire performance testing, and operating gas-fired furnaces and cryogenic testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare steel test sections for fire testing and furnace test setup and dismantling.
  • Plan and schedule day-to-day requirements for assigned projects and support activities.
  • Conduct furnace tests and perform quench and spill tests of coated steel test pieces.
  • Record results and follow laboratory administration procedures.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

  • GCSE in Math and English, NVQ (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues.
  • Good understanding of health and safety principles.
