Job Purpose
As a member of our R&D team, you'll work on a range of business-critical needs, focusing on existing products and portfolios, with some time supporting development projects for our Coatings operations in Felling.
Key Responsibilities
- Support testing of existing and emerging technologies, products, processes, and coatings systems used within the Yachting industry.
- Design, develop, carry out, evaluate, and interpret experiments.
- Report results, propose conclusions, and recommendations within agreed timescales using appropriate methods to internal customers and stakeholders.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of key product and coating attributes and performance.
- Effectively manage short- and long-term plans for assigned projects and support activities.
- Support internal and external customer needs, including training colleagues, technical advice, and leading complaint investigations.
- Identify improvement needs and suggest improvement activities or projects.
- Work safely and in compliance with company and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Masters or BSc degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related science subject.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment with good laboratory skills, a safe, structured, logical approach, and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in structured problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the paints and coatings industry would be advantageous.
- Able to follow processes and procedures.
