Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Job Overview
The post holder will be part of an integrated Multidisciplinary Team working with adults experiencing a range of mental health problems. They will be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning, and implementing care plans.
They will provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior team members, serving as a role model and resource for the Mental Health Team by developing clinical practice and expertise.
Working collaboratively with service users, other healthcare professionals, and services within and outside Berwyn Prison, the post holder will contribute to achieving the best possible health outcomes for clients and reducing pathways to re-offending.
Main Duties
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking practitioner to join a busy supportive team based at HMP Berwyn. The successful candidate will join the service at a time of review and development to meet changing service user needs while gaining experience in offender health.
This service provides an opportunity to develop an integrated team offering specialist mental health provision to service users within the custodial environment. This will include working alongside primary and secondary mental health care caseloads to formulate risk management plans and care planning based on robust assessments of need, supported by a multi-disciplinary team-based approach.
The service is looking for mental health practitioners with a core mental health background, demonstrable experience, and training with complex needs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively are essential. In addition, the service is keen to develop employees and offer excellent progression through various career pathways and continuing professional development opportunities such as an MSc in Health, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
