About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our substance misuse service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs and substance misuse issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for individuals with substance misuse issues and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions, to support individuals in achieving their recovery goals.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including community mental health teams and community drug teams, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with service users, their families, and carers to ensure person-centered care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and evidence-based guidelines.

Person Specification

  • Current knowledge of substance misuse issues and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Experience of working in a forensic mental health setting, preferably with individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with the ability to work with individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and service users.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
