Transportation Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced National Fleet Manager to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing transportation operations, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and compliance.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's distribution and vehicle fleet operation is legal, compliant, organised, monitored, and controlled efficiently. This includes leading a team of staff, setting and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing processes to improve existing work procedures.
The role requires excellent knowledge of EU legislation, VOSA & DVSA regulations, as well as experience in managing external 3rd party contracts, procurement of vehicles and trailers, and technical ability to understand, support, and diagnose vehicle defects/problems.
Key Responsibilities- Ensuring the company's distribution and vehicle fleet operation is legal and compliant
- Leading and managing a team of staff
- Setting and monitoring KPIs for National Fleet Operations
- Implementing processes to improve existing work procedures
The ideal candidate will have a National Management CPC qualification, excellent knowledge of EU legislation, VOSA & DVSA regulations, and experience in managing external 3rd party contracts. They will also possess recognised Apprenticeship in HGV Mechanics (e.g. City & Guilds) and technical ability to understand, support, and diagnose vehicle defects/problems.
