We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic University Hospital environment, providing early intervention and rehabilitation services to patients across various departments.

Our hospital provides emergency treatment, planned operations, and medical care, with a strong focus on patient-centered research and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Critical Care: Providing early rehabilitation services to trauma, surgical, medical, and neurological patients, including cognitive assessment, functional assessment, splinting, and casting.
  • Palliative Care: Supporting oncology and renal condition patients, fast-track discharge planning, complex manual handling assessments, and equipment provision for long-term life-limiting conditions.
  • Frail Elderly: Managing frailty, dementia, falls management, and complex discharge planning for elderly patients.
  • Emergency Portals: Rapid decision-making for discharge planning and equipment provision to avoid admissions.
  • Medicine: Providing therapy services for a wide range of medical conditions, including Non-Invasive Ventilation, MND, Cardiology, and post-Critical Care Step-down patients.
  • Orthopaedics: Supporting elective orthopaedics with complex discharge planning.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 months post-graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with HCPC.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Experience in an acute setting and NHS environment desirable.
