Senior Speech and Language Therapist for ASD Students

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to support students with autism spectrum disorder at Axcis Education Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students with ASD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students with ASD.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and other professionals to integrate speech therapy techniques into the student’s educational and social environments.
  • Creating a supportive and understanding atmosphere where students feel comfortable and motivated to engage in therapy sessions.
  • Documenting progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Conducting group and one-to-one therapy sessions.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings to share insights and plan cooperative strategies for supporting students’ overall well-being.
Required Qualifications:
  • A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience in working with children or adolescents with ASD is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or eligibility to undergo checks).
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to working with children and young people who have complex needs.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Axcis Education Recruitment offers a competitive benefits package, including access to professional development opportunities and a supportive team environment.
