Head Injury Support Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated nurse to join our team as a Head Injury Support Nurse. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients who have suffered major traumatic brain injury throughout their hospital stay and post discharge.
- Navigate patients and families onto further support services as required and in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop strong cohesive cross collaborative working relationships with medical staff, ward managers, nurses, therapists, and those involved in direct support of the patients and family members/carers.
- Take a proactive approach to arranging and supporting patients and their carers through their care pathway, including goal planning and discharge planning meetings.
- Act as a source of professional advice for district nurses, care agencies, and other staff within the region, and will act as a patient advocate at all times.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.
The leadership and improvement programme aims to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust values and behaviours
- Develop your leadership effectiveness and skills
- Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.
After completing the six and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
