About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Nursing to join the Collaborative for James Cook Cancer Institute and Specialist Medicine at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be part of a triumvirate team, jointly accountable for developing the longer-term strategic direction of the JCCISM collaborative.

As a key professional leader, the Head of Nursing will provide strategic and operational direction to all nurses within the collaborative, ensuring high-quality patient-focused care and robust risk management and governance arrangements.

The post holder will be an integral part of the Trust's senior nursing team, working with other Heads of Nursing, Associate Directors of Nursing, Deputy Chief Nurses, and Chief Nursing Officer.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Provide leadership and direction to nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Ensure robust risk management and governance arrangements are in place
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement Trust-wide initiatives
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse (NMC)
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification
  • Management/leadership qualification or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience
  • Evidence of ongoing relevant professional development
