Medication Safety Lead Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Medication Safety Lead Pharmacist. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior pharmacist to further develop their leadership and management skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies around medication safety and lead on local and national directives relating to medicines management safety.
- Provide expert clinical advice to incident investigations involving medications, including leading on action plans for serious incidents, never events, and inquests relating to medication safety improvements.
- Work collaboratively across the organization to provide a safe, effective, and highly valued pharmacy service.
- Lead on quality improvement initiatives within the organization and work closely with other pharmacy senior leaders to improve medication safety for patients.
- Act as the department's audit lead for medication safety issues, encourage audit and original research to support safe medication practice.
- Represent the pharmacy department on the organization's Safer Medicines Practice Group and escalate medication safety issues to senior members of the leadership team.
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Masters Degree or equivalent in Pharmacy.
- Post-graduate diploma/MSc in a relevant pharmacy area or equivalent documented experience in a relevant area.
- Substantive level of post-qualification experience in primary care or secondary care.
- Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience providing specialist pharmacy services.
- Experience of success in service development.
- Experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience of writing and implementing business plans.
- Internal and multidisciplinary audit experience.
