Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Audio Medical Secretary in the Children and Young People's Gender Service (South West) at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. This is a full-time role that offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless communication with patients, relatives, and other clinical teams. As an audio typist, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing dictations and preparing medical records.

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A good understanding of Microsoft Office 365 software and audio typing/dictation software is essential. If you have experience working in a healthcare setting and are familiar with NHS policies and procedures, we encourage you to apply.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To act as a point of contact for queries from clinical and non-clinical staff
  • To liaise via telephone and email with other clinical/clerical teams to action urgent appointments or procedures where necessary
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • To provide administrative support to healthcare professionals, including data entry and report preparation

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE level in English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Qualified in word processing or audio typing (or equivalent)
  • Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
