About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Five Wells, a category C prison located in Wellingborough. As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
  • Ensure that patients' physical and mental health needs are assessed on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody.
  • Make clinical judgments regarding immediate needs and long-term treatment.
