The role of Radiotherapy Physics Specialist is to provide Radiotherapy Physics services to the Gloucestershire Oncology Centre, ensuring patients' Radiotherapy is delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently using modern techniques and equipment. The successful applicant will contribute to the services provided across the department, including treatment plan checking and QC of various pieces of equipment.

The team is part of the larger physics department, working together in a friendly and supportive way to deliver an excellent service. The radiotherapy service at Cheltenham combines a team of physicists, technologists, engineers, radiographers, and clinicians to plan and deliver treatments.

The post holder will be responsible for their contribution to routine work provided by the department in accordance with approved protocols and the health and safety policy of the trust. The successful applicant will have appropriate experience working as an RT technologist, a BSc in Physics, and an MSc related to medical physics.

The team works closely with the diagnostic and nuclear medicine physics teams who operate across Cheltenham and Gloucester, and also provides a service to Hereford County Hospital as a single machine satellite centre for patients across Hereford.

The successful applicant will have good communication skills, the ability to manage own work and project work, and a good knowledge of Microsoft packages including spreadsheets.

The role requires the ability to deliver presentations or tutorials, and the successful applicant will be HCPC Registered Clinical technologist.
