About the Role

We are looking for a talented Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Older Adult Inpatient Service at the Campus for Aging and Vitality in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for professional growth and development, with the possibility of progression to Band 8a role upon successful completion of a defined Preceptorship Programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to clients with a range of clinical needs, working within two older adult wards. They will also support the multidisciplinary team through team supervision and training, contributing to the development of collaborative psychological formulations and delivering psychological interventions with service users and families.

The salary for this position is £63,667 - £85,277 per annum, depending on experience. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong research and report writing skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and Neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society and the HCPC.
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision, and the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
