Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Older Adult Inpatient Service at the Campus for Aging and Vitality, Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychologist to lead the development of specialist psychological services for older adults, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the development of collaborative psychological formulations and delivering psychological interventions with service users and families.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical or counselling psychology, with experience working with a wide variety of client groups, including those with severe and enduring mental health problems, psychosis, and personality disorder. They will also have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of specialist psychological services for older adults.
  • Support the development of collaborative psychological formulations and deliver psychological interventions with service users and families.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Contribute to the development and undertaking of service evaluation, enhancing the quality of care.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology.
  • Strong background in clinical or counselling psychology.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of client groups.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.

The salary for this role is £46,148 - £52,809 per annum, which reflects the Trust's commitment to providing competitive salaries and benefits to its staff.
