Job Summary

The NHS England is recruiting a General Practice Training Programme Director to lead the delivery of specialty training placements and rotations across Local Education Providers and General Practices in the West Yorkshire region.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician with a strong sense of vision and ability to innovate, to work with the Deputy Head of School and other colleagues in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions to ensure the quality of training within the scheme.

The role involves working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context, supporting the Postgraduate Dean, and collaborating with relevant Colleges, Faculties, professional bodies, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct and manage specialty training placements and rotations across Local Education Providers and General Practices.
  2. Work with the Deputy Head of School and other colleagues to lead the delivery of a wide range of functions to ensure the quality of training within the scheme.
  3. Support the Postgraduate Dean in delivering an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.
  4. Undergo an annual appraisal, with feedback on involvement in postgraduate education and training provided by the Deputy Head of School.

Requirements

  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association, and/or regulatory body.
  • Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development at an appropriate level.
