About the Role

The University of Exeter is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Mining and Exploration Geology. This is a part-time (0.6FTE) maternity cover post available from January 2024 on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver innovative teaching programs in mining-related education, utilizing a range of delivery techniques to engage students.
  • Contribute to the development of external networks to enhance student recruitment, placements, outreach, and income generation.
  • Participate in peer review and contribute to the impact of teaching at the discipline program level.
  • Work towards Fellow of the HEA status and attend formal CPD relating to this.
  • Have excellent knowledge of GIS and contribute to its application in teaching and research.

About the Department

The post will be based in the Camborne School of Mines (CSM), a discipline within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences within the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy. CSM is one of the world's best-known Mining Schools, with over 130 years of providing high-quality education and state-of-the-art research.
