Location: Remote (2 days per fortnight on site)
Hourly Rate: £79.17 (Inside IR35)
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Chief Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at JAM Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design and development of electrical power systems.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring that electrical power systems are designed and developed in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
- Design and Development: Develop and maintain electrical power system designs, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
- Project Management: Manage and coordinate electrical power system projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and system documentation.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical power system designs and developments meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in electrical power system design and development, including power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and technical expertise to guide and support the engineering team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to electrical power systems.
- Defence Standards: Experience working with defence standards and regulations.
- Power Systems Modelling: Experience with power systems modelling and simulation tools.
- Power Generation and Distribution: Experience with power generation and distribution systems, including AC and DC systems.
- Power System Protection and Co-ordination: Experience with power system protection and co-ordination systems.
- Power System Operation: Experience with power system operation and control systems.
- Power Electronics: Experience with power electronics and control systems.
