About the Role

We are seeking an experienced paediatric nurse to join our dynamic team of Paediatric Site Practitioners at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice and practice expanded clinical skills within the paediatric department, working collaboratively with the wider Multidisciplinary team.

Main Duties
  • Provide leadership and clinical support to paediatric clinical areas, including inpatient general paediatrics, Haematology/Infectious diseases, Critical care (PICU/NICU), Surgical day care, Outpatients, Paediatric ambulatory care, and Paediatric A+E on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Be part of the Paediatric pain service, offering support and guidance on PCA/NCA's within the paediatric population.
  • Work as part of the paediatric hospital at night clinical team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patients' needs, in liaison with the overall hospital at night Trust team.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • RSCN / RN child
    • Teaching course or Teaching Experience
    • Valid APLS or PILS
    • Experience of delivering advanced practice/patient assessment
  • Desirable:
    • Degree or equivalent
    • Post basic critical care course
    • ECDL
    • Management leadership qualification
Experience
  • Essential:
    • Two years experience in a relevant band 6 role
    • Relevant paediatric experience in an acute setting.
    • Evidence of significant continuing professional development
  • Desirable:
    • Teaching hospital experience
    • PICU/HDU experience
    • Currently involved in clinical practice
