We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Collections Development Specialist to join our team at the National Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the National Trust's paint sample archive by ensuring data in the Collections Management System (CMS) is created and maintained in line with our data standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation and development of data standards and procedures for this collection, working closely with the conservation scientist, Collection Management and Information team, conservation scientist, property teams, conservators, curators, and building surveyors.

You will spend approximately 70% of your time supporting and coordinating the creation of data and the relocation of samples, using your effective written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you will create and deliver training to support new ways of working for how our paint samples, conservation science data, and information are managed.

About You
  • You have experience working with collections management systems and data, as well as knowledge of collections management procedures and documentation standards.
  • You possess advanced IT skills, including using Excel to manage and manipulate data, and the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively to ensure delivery to deadlines.
  • You are able to work as part of a team, sharing ideas and learning, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
