About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Structural Engineer to join our UK team, specializing in the healthcare sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of our UK Healthcare Division, working on projects in London and South East England, with opportunities to support healthcare projects throughout the UK and globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with our team of Structural Engineers, frequently working with colleagues from other engineering disciplines.
  • Raise the profile and reputation of our UK Healthcare Team.
  • Develop and oversee structural engineering concepts and design philosophies.
  • Carry out structural design, analysis, and FEM modeling.
  • Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings.
  • Communicate designs to team members and construction sites.
  • Complete detailed designs to required standards and supervise work of graduate engineers and apprentices.
  • Implement best practice procedures to enhance and maintain delivery of sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative, and quality advisory and design services.
  • Visit sites to support development of structural engineering designs or review contract works in progress.
  • Take an active role in technical groups and team meetings to support continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership and deliver on team improvement initiatives.
  • Join Ramboll's ICE or IStructE training scheme and make demonstrable progress towards chartership (if not already chartered).
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Design Structural Engineer with a strong background in the UK healthcare sector. You will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, achieved Chartered Engineer status, and experience in designing reinforced concrete, steel, and/or timber. You will also have knowledge of assessment, retrofit, and alteration of existing structures, as well as construction supervision, building investigation, and structural testing.

You will be an excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex technical concepts in plain language, verbally and in writing. You will also be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and pride in work produced, as well as motivate and inspire confidence both internally and externally across geographical borders.
