Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of on-site machinery. This includes using the CMMS system Shire to plan both preventive and reactive work efficiently, keeping maintenance records up to date, and issuing work orders to teams.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification, high proficiency in CMMS and SAP systems, and experience in mechanical maintenance engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling Maintenance: Use the CMMS system to schedule maintenance efficiently.
  • Maintenance Records: Keep maintenance records up to date.
  • Work Orders: Issue work orders to teams and monitor completion and progress.
  • Reactive Tasks: Plan day-to-day reactive tasks in line with business needs.
  • Weekly Plans: Produce weekly plans in advance for engineering resources.
  • Scheduled Maintenance Outages: Plan all work and resources required for scheduled maintenance outages.
  • Engineering Tasks: Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineering managers to ensure safe execution.
  • Purchasing: Ensure parts and services are purchased economically and available for planned work activities.
  • Critical Spares: Use SAP system to ensure critical spares are always held in stock.
  • Engineering Shut Plans: Support engineering team to build programs of work into engineering shut plans.

Requirements

  • A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ qualification is desirable.
  • High proficiency in CMMS and SAP systems is required.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance engineering is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Excel is necessary.
  • Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment is a must.
