About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team as a Consultant at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care as a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, providing expert advice and treatment to patients with complex orthopaedic conditions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines, ensuring best practice in paediatric orthopaedic care.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff, promoting excellence in paediatric orthopaedic care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the advancement of paediatric orthopaedic care.
Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for specialist registration within six months of interview or equivalent.
  • Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
  • Fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics of suitable duration.
  • Additional Postgraduate qualification (MD, PhD, MSc) relevant to clinical speciality (desirable).
Desirable Qualities
  • Experience in frame application for paediatric elective and trauma cases.
  • Experience and interest in paediatric soft tissue knee injuries.
  • Broad range of IT skills.
  • Fellowship training in subspecialty interest to complement the existing departmental interests.
  • Experience of formal paediatric teaching and website development.
