About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team at North Bristol NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Upper Limb Fellowship program.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a busy Hand & Wrist service within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre.
- Contribute to the ongoing research and audit programs of the department.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with upper limb conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in educational activities and contribute to the development of junior staff.
Requirements
- FRCS (ORTH) or equivalent qualification.
- Maintain full registration with the GMC.
- Recent experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices.
- Minimum of six years postgraduate experience, including four years as an orthopaedic trainee in an approved training post.
- Training in diagnosis and treatment of upper limb conditions.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Higher academic qualification (e.g. MD or MS).
- Some training in Upper Limb surgery.
- Upper limb audits.
- Proven research activity.
- Proven teaching ability.
