Salary: £21 - £22.41 Per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Lead to provide temporary cover until a permanent appointment is made. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and pastoral care of all learners at BAJ, while also promoting a positive culture of information sharing and effective safeguarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to all learners at BAJ through the effective provision of welfare and pastoral care.
  • Proactively support tutors, learners, and other staff members in all matters relating to learner wellbeing.
  • Lead responsibility for safeguarding and learner and vulnerable adult protection, including online safety.
  • Take responsibility on behalf of the organisation for day-to-day safeguarding management, following DfE statutory Guidance.
  • Promote a positive culture of information sharing which leads to effective safeguarding processes being followed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a safeguarding role.
  • Level 3 Safeguarding Lead qualification.
  • Level 3 Safeguarding Adults qualification.

Training and Development:

  • The designated safeguarding lead should undergo training to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to carry out the role.
  • Ensure each member of staff has access to, and understands, the school or college's child protection policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that all staff are fully trained in safeguarding and know how to spot and raise concerns.

Availability:

  • The designated safeguarding lead should always be available (during school or college hours) for staff in the school or college to discuss any safeguarding concerns.
