Mechanical Metrology Calibration Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and participating in high-level calibration and repair activities for TMDE, including resource management and calibration workload signoff
  • Creating and reviewing calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Supporting UKAS (ISO 17025) audits and achieving UKAS signatory status
  • Mentoring and guiding apprentices and junior team members through on-the-job training and experiential learning
  • Negotiating with technical stakeholders and providing consultation on new measurement technologies

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in precision mechanical metrology laboratory environments, a deep understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001), and relevant academic qualifications (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent). Desired skills include existing UKAS signatory status for mechanical calibrations, experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets, and proficiency in automation software.

Annual Salary: £52,000 - £62,000, based on performance and experience.
